Winter Weather PREPAREDNESS TIPS

Prepare for Freezing Weather

  • LOCATE YOUR WATER SHUTOFF
Make sure everyone in your residence knows where the water main shutoff valve is located and keep it clear of debris and obstacles at all times. Some homes have shutoff valves on their side of the meter, if you do not know if you have one, check the inspection report from when you bought the house. For renters, please consult with your property manager. If you cannot find your shutoff valve or if it is damaged, then you should be prepared to access the shutoff valve in the meter box. Make sure your meter box is cleaned out and you can access the shutoff. You may need a water meter key that can be used to open the box and turn the shut off valve, these can be […]

BOIL WATER NOTICE FOR POINT LA VISTA

Due to a break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Point La Vista PWS 1070207 public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or […]

Pass-Through Rate Added to Bills

As part of our 2011 Rate Increase, we were allowed to recover the increased expenses for purchased water in a Pass-Through Rate. We have chosen to absorb these costs until now, but they have increased enough that we have been left with no other option except to pass it on to the customers.

This pertains to water rates only.

The rates will vary per 1000 gallons each month

This month rate will be $0.69/1000 gallons

Lakeshore Utility Company will continue to try and keep costs down for the customers.

THESE COSTS DO NOT APPLY TO DOGWOOD CUSTOMERS

BOIL WATER NOTICE

Please boil your drinking water, as we have lost enough pressure in our systems to deem that a precaution is necessary.  We are still working to isolate the leaks, and some of you may have water while others do not.  If you do,  please CONSERVE as the process is ongoing to determine the location, and it helps to not have large amounts of movement on the system.   If the water system in your neighborhood has not lost pressure any this week then you can ignore this notice.

Winter Storm Water Outage Update

Lakeshore Utility is NOT shutting the water off.  We are working around the clock to keep water supplied to everyone. The winter storm-related power outages have caused a loss of power at some of our water plants.  This it can make it difficult to keep up with water demand.  Also, because of the extended loss of power our plant heaters have not been able to work and some pipes have frozen inside a few plants.   We are working to make those repairs as quickly as possible.   Some customers could be without water for a period of time as we deal with these power outage-related issues.  Please conserve as much as possible so we can get past this difficult time. Thank you for your cooperation.
